An Important Question

What Is CBD?

How does CBD vary from THC and other forms of cannabis?

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is one of many molecules known as cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis (sativa) plant. CBD oil is an essential oil extracted from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant and has been used for hundreds of years. Cannabinoids are active compounds produced by the cannabis plant and mimic endocannabinoids (neurotransmitters) naturally produced in our bodies.

Because CBD was only legalized within the past few years and is such a new market, it’s crucial to buy third-party-tested CBD products for quality assurance purposes. Because the FDA doesn’t regulate CBD, it is possible to buy a product that is more or less potent than advertised, or even contains small amounts of THC.

CBD vs THC

Not to be confused with marijuana, CBD is non-psychoactive and does not contain THC so there is no “high” associated with using the product. However, a small number of CBD users (<5%) claim to experience an “altered” mindset after ingesting, so first-time users should still be careful.

ABLE Brands products are produced by a proprietary method that extracts all THC from the plant, and all our products are 3rd party tested to ensure the utmost standards of quality control and safety.
